High Definition

High Definition generally means any video image with considerably more than 480 vertical scan lines (NTSC, used in North America and most of South America) or 576 vertical lines (PAL, used in most of the European and Asian countries) is considered high-definition. Where the screen display of images is sharper and more detailed than normal, having many more than the standard number of scanning lines per frame.
