316 Stainless Steel Housing

316 Stainless Steel Housing is used in offshore, marine, and washdown applications.  Non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant, 316 stainless steel housing offers a reduced risk to stress corrosion cracking, improved creep resistance and better protection against pitting and crevice corrosion.

316 stainless steel is composed of 16% chromium, 10% nickel, and 2% molybdenum. The molybdenum is added to help resist corrosion to chlorides (like seawater, brine solutions, and de-icing salts), more resistant to solutions of sulfuric acid, bromides, iodides, and fatty acids at high temperature.
