Designed to operate at an excellent lighting efficacy ration (lumens/watt), the SIDUS SS550 DarkCrystal CAM Subsea Camera maximizes the number of lumens to power consumption, up to 200 lumens/watt. A true game-changer in subsea video capture, this camera is available as a high performance HDR IP or CVBS Video or bulkhead version.

Full lighting control may be accomplished using power cycling, serial port, discrete analog inputs, discrete digital inputs, or tristate controls. The SS550 is NDAA compliant.

SS550 DarkCrystal CAM Subsea Camera

With SIDUS’ improved video quality, the SS550 DarkCrystal CAM Subsea Camera has numerous features never before available in a compact practical light combo. It is available as an HDR IP Network camera or CVBS Analog camera. The SS550 is a small, affordable, yet rugged subsea self-lighted camera designed to fit where traditional cameras cannot go.

The HDR IP Network camera version offers three simultaneous video streams supported at different resolutions, frame rates, and compression qualities. Time stamp and synchronize to a network time server with up to 512GB of onboard recording for video (approximately 2 days or more at highest quality) or still images. Video may be H.264 or MJPEG encoded at video bit rates of up to 20Mpbs.

Dimmable LED Light

The dimmable HBLED light can output up to 2500 lumens using SIDUS’ unique high-count LED circuitry to ensure uniform illumination over the entire field of view with minimal shadows. The DarkCrystal CAM design prevents unwanted interference between the HBLEDs and the camera by minimizing reflections onto the camera lens in comparison to other existing similar products. An advanced hybrid dimming algorithm gives the user the option of selecting various HBLED dimming modes. Analog dimming minimizes acoustic noise for applications using nearby sonars and acoustic ranging devises. A combination of analog and PWM dimming provides an incredible dimming range of up to 30,000:1.

The SS550 is a feature-rich, low-latency streaming, HDR IP camera that has comparable video specifications that you can change on the fly over the web interface. The password-protected web interface is compatible with secure web browsers like Google Chrome. Video resolution, sensitivity, and dynamic range are all much improved over existing products.

A high-quality sapphire port and aluminum housing allow operations down to 3,000 msw for a wide range of applications. With its flexible integrated cable, the SS550 is ideal for tight spots, such as small ROV pan & tilts with very low torque capability.
